L'Eroica 2013 experience - Part 1 of 5

7 men met at Singapore Changi Airport late September to embark on a weeks' riding in the Tuscan hills. We had signed up for one of the most interesting cycling events in the world, featuring steel racing bicycles, wool jerseys and glorious Italian cuisine.

Leonardo explaining the plan for our trip. There is no actual plan in the Italian way, hence the beer.

Rome. Collecting our bikes after the 14hr - 20hr flight, depending on where you came from.

After a 3hr drive, we arrive at this quaint Bed and Breakfast place in the hills of Siena. Taverna Celsa was a wonderful place.

Lunch was waiting for us when we arrived. Perfect timing..

Fresh pomodoro from the garden. Taverna rears pigs and grows their own vegetables on their land.

Lovely Vino from the local area. This was for lunch.

Hand made pasta with fresh tomato sauce. We were in heaven.

The view and surroundings were just surreal.

Unpacked, to get ready for our first ride the next day.
